Škoda finally showed the successor of Rapid

The first two pictures of the Rapid‘s successor show that the new model will be revolutionary in design, very damaging to the Škoda ratios. The study will be presented in real form in October at the Paris Motor Show.

The Vision RS study, under which Oliver Stefani’s new “designer” is signed, is 4356 mm long, 1810 mm wide and 1431 mm high. The wheelbase is 2650 mm. Dimensions are roughly at the level of the current speed, but the height of the car is substantially 30 mm lower.

The Hatchback Vision RS has low headlamps with a triangular design, the front mask is very dynamic. In the back there is a giant confident inscription Škoda (we will see if it will get in this form into serial production).

Also note the large rear integrated spoiler, large diffuser and a steep gradient in the C-pillar area, giving you a sporty look. Not to mention that Škoda would like to present its sporting (RS) models in a similar design spirit.

RS marking on Škoda cars

The RS (Rally Sport) has been used by Škoda since 1974 on racing vehicles, since 2000 also on serial sport cars tuned. From the modern ones, the Fabia RS models (first and second generation, now no longer produced) were offered by Škoda Fabia and Octavii RS (all three new generations).
The first serial model with the Rally Sport logo (in some countries due to the trademark sold as VRS, as victories or victories) has been the first generation of the modern octave since 2000.

“Vision RS, with a number of design solutions, refers to Škoda racing cars, showing the direction of developing the design of RS sports cars and at the same time recalling the automotive history of 117 years,” said Štěpán Řehák from the press department of Škoda Auto.
